Sunday service
Our main service takes place each Sunday at
10.30am. It lasts approximately one hour. You are
welcome to join us; the format typically involves
the singing of hymns, preaching and prayer,
followed by refreshments.
In the beginning…
Lowdham Chapel was built following a revival at Bingham and in the Trent
valley in the early 1800s involving Primitive Methodist preachers from
Stoke-on-Trent, and an American called Lorenzo Dow. Today this chapel
remains an evangelical free church where salvation through Jesus is
preached and believed.
Since the early days our pastors and office holders have not received pay for their labours, in a tradition known
as ‘Free Gospelism’. We are not saying being paid for ministry is wrong, only that we do not work that way here
and the Lord provides for us through other means in our lives.
We believe in One Almighty God; our Heavenly Father, who differs in personhood but is of the same
essence as Jesus Christ our Lord the Saviour; we also believe in the Holy Spirit, again of the same essence
but distinguishable from the Father and the Son, in the classic Trinitarian understanding of God.
Coffee & Study
Our Bible studies tend to be lively and fun, while
delving deeply into the Word, and getting to
know each other as friends. Please attend our
Sunday service and ask about it if you’d like to
come. Such evening meetings are held at the
chapel.
The coffee morning is curently not meeting, but
may restart in 2022, God willing.
